  • Kienzle was a Roman Catholic priest for twenty years but left the priesthood in 1974 because he disagreed with the Church’s refusal to remarry divorcees.
  • The Rosary Murders was Kienzle’s first novel. It was made into a 1987 film of the same title starring Donald Sutherland as Father Robert Koesler, a Catholic priest who doubles as a detective.
